On Making
FERRARA is a tailoring house defined by total control and refinement of the craft.
Since 1987, our family has operated a tailoring workshop in New York City, producing fine clothing for leading American brands, public figures, and institutions. Over time, that experience was distilled into something more focused: our own expression of the work, held to the same exacting standards.
We are not built on narrative or positioning. We are built on making.
Every garment begins and ends in our hands.

This proximity allows for a level of attention that cannot be replicated. You see it in the symmetry of a lapel, the way a collar frames the neck, the natural drape through the sleeve. These are not design gestures. They are outcomes of discipline.
We do not rush the process. We refine it.

Our work is rooted in made-to-measure.
Each garment begins with a developed base and is shaped through decades of accumulated knowledge in fit. This knowledge has been formed not only in New York, but through training and collaboration with master tailors from around the world including Milan, Savile Row, and beyond.
The result is precision from the outset, with refinement where necessary.
Once your fit is established, it is preserved.
Once your standard is set, it remains.
For weddings, formal events, and moments that require exactness, our role is consistent: to ensure you are properly dressed, without compromise.

Our work happens in one place.
A building in Long Island City dedicated entirely to making. Here, garments move slowly through their stages, shaped by skilled hands and close attention. There is a rhythm to it: steady, considered, uninterrupted.
It is increasingly rare to find such places. For us, it is essential.
