Our Story
On Making
Every great house begins with a family.
Since 1987, ours has run a tailoring factory in New York City, producing fine garments for leading American brands, public figures, and institutions. The names on the labels changed. The standard never did. In time, that work was distilled into something more personal: our own expression of the craft, held to the same exacting measure.
We are not built on image. We are built on making. Every garment begins with an understanding of how clothing should be constructed, how it should fit, and how it should endure.

The Family
A House and a Household
FERRARA is a family of makers.
Ours is a house where everything is held to one discipline — the cut of a jacket and the setting of a table, the press of a seam and the care of a meal. The eye that approves every fabric and fit. The hands that engineer the factory and preserve the craft. The voice that tells the story. The energy that gathers people around it.
The myth of this house is not written. It is lived, daily, on a factory floor in Long Island City.

Our Work
Foundational Pieces
FERRARA exists to make the foundations of the wardrobe.
The oxford shirt. The blazer. The trouser. The jacket. The pieces returned to again and again — not because they are loud, but because they are right. Each is shaped by decades of knowledge in fit, proportion, and construction. Our work is not about novelty. It is about permanence.
Before we are a brand, we are makers. Our standard comes from the floor: patternmaking, cutting, sewing, pressing, fitting, finishing. We know every stage of the garment — not as an idea, but as a practice, and we answer for every stitch.
We believe clothing should have integrity from the inside out. The parts you see should be beautiful. The parts you do not see should be considered. That is the foundation of FERRARA.

The Place
New York City
Our work happens in one place.
A building in Long Island City dedicated entirely to making. Here, garments move slowly through their stages, shaped by skilled hands and close attention. There is a rhythm to it: steady, considered, uninterrupted.
It is increasingly rare to find such places. For us, it is essential.
We do not think of ourselves as a brand. We are makers, dedicated to the discipline of tailoring.
